Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, sliced into thin rounds

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 cups whole milk

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup heavy cream, chilled

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder, for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together until evenly mixed. Slowly pour in the whole milk while whisking continuously to ensure a smooth mixture.

Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture consistently for 8-10 minutes or until it thickens and begins to bubble gently. When you reach the desired thickness, remove the saucepan from heat.

Immediately stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and pure vanilla extract. Continue stirring until the chocolate chips have completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy. Set aside to cool slightly.

In a separate mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or whisk to whip the chilled heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks begin to form. This will create a light and fluffy topping for your pudding.

In a 9x9 inch serving dish or individual serving cups, start layering the dessert. Begin with a layer of sliced bananas on the bottom. Pour half of the chocolate mixture over the bananas, ensuring they are well covered. Add another layer of banana slices on top, followed by the remaining chocolate pudding mixture.

Top the desserts with a generous layer of the whipped cream. For an elegant finish, you can either use a spatula to smooth it out or fit a piping bag with a decorative tip to create beautiful swirls.

Cover the dish or cups with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. This will allow the flavors to meld and the pudding to firm up.

Just before serving, add an artistic touch by garnishing with chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder. Indulge in your delicious creation and enjoy!
