Ingredients

1 cup fresh orange juice

1 medium carrot, peeled and chopped

1 frozen banana

½ cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey)

¼ cup rolled oats

1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

½ cup almond milk (or your choice of milk)

Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker texture)

Instructions

Prepare Your Ingredients: Start by preparing your ingredients: peel and chop the carrot into small pieces to facilitate blending. Make sure your banana is frozen; if it's not, slice it and freeze it for about an hour. Gather all your liquids and spices for easy access.

Blend Carrots with Juice: In a high-speed blender, combine the chopped carrot and fresh orange juice. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth, ensuring the carrot is well-pureed and integrated into the juice.

Incorporate Remaining Ingredients: Now, add the frozen banana, Greek yogurt, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, maple syrup, rolled oats, and chia seeds (if using) to the blender. Pour in the almond milk. If you like a thicker consistency, you can also add a handful of ice cubes.

Blend to Creaminess: Blend on high until the mixture achieves a creamy and smooth texture. If the smoothie is too thick for your blender blades to move freely, simply stop, scrape down the sides, and maybe add a splash more almond milk.

Taste and Adjust Sweetness: Once blended, taste your smoothie and adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding a bit more maple syrup if desired. Blend briefly again to mix in any adjustments thoroughly.

Serve Your Smoothie: Pour the smoothie into tall, chilled glasses for a refreshing treat. For an added touch, sprinkle an extra dash of cinnamon on top or garnish with crushed nuts for a delightful crunch.

Enjoy Right Away: For the best flavor and freshness, savor your Spiced Carrot Cake Smoothie immediately.
