Ingredients

8 small slider buns or dinner rolls

4 large eggs

1 medium apple, thinly sliced (preferably a sweet variety like Honeycrisp)

4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese

4 slices of cooked bacon or turkey bacon (optional)

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Fresh arugula or spinach for garnish (optional)

Honey or maple syrup for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Buns: Carefully slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet and set the top halves aside for later use.

Cook the Eggs: In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet, season generously with salt and pepper, and cook until they reach your preferred doneness (soft, medium, or hard). For scrambled eggs, gently stir and push the eggs towards the edge of the skillet as they cook to achieve a creamy texture.

Assemble the Sliders: Evenly distribute the cooked eggs across the bottom halves of the buns. Layer the thin apple slices over the eggs, followed by placing a slice of cheddar cheese on top. If desired, add a slice of cooked bacon on top of the cheese for a savory touch.

Top It Off: Carefully place the top halves of the buns over the filled bottom halves, gently pressing down to help hold everything together.

Bake the Sliders: Place the sliders in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.

Add Final Touches: After removing from the oven, if desired, sprinkle a touch of cinnamon over the sliders for added warmth. Garnish with fresh arugula or spinach for a burst of color and freshness, and drizzle with honey or maple syrup for a sweet contrast.

Serve: Allow the sliders to cool slightly before slicing them individually to serve. Enjoy them warm!
