Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on or skinless)

1/4 cup honey

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional but recommended)

2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (to sprinkle on top)

Instructions

Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and grated ginger (if using). Whisk the mixture until well blended and set it aside.

Season the Salmon: Use paper towels to pat each salmon fillet dry thoroughly. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper for enhanced flavor.

Heat the Skillet: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering and hot, carefully place the salmon fillets into the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Avoid moving the fillets while cooking to allow the skin to crisp up. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes.

Flip the Salmon: Using a spatula, gently flip each salmon fillet over. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the fish is golden and begins to flake easily.

Add the Sauce: Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the salmon fillets. Lower the heat to a medium setting and allow the salmon to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, basting with the sauce occasionally. Cook until the salmon is fully cooked through and has formed a lovely glaze, about 5-6 minutes total cooking time.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat once the salmon is cooked to your liking. Garnish each fillet with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds to add texture and flavor. Serve the honey garlic glazed salmon immediately, ideally alongside a side of steamed vegetables or on a bed of fluffy rice for a complete meal.
