Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

4 cloves garlic, finely minced

Zest and juice of 1 lime

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon ground cumin

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 head of butter or Boston lettuce, leaves carefully separated

1 cup shredded carrots

1 ripe avocado, diced

½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

¼ cup sliced radishes (optional, for garnish)

Hot sauce (optional, for serving and added kick)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with the olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, lime zest, honey, chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Toss everything together until the shrimp are evenly coated in the marinade. Let the shrimp marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

Cook the Shrimp: Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Once cooked, remove the skillet from the heat and set aside.

Prepare the Lettuce Wraps: While the shrimp are cooking, rinse the lettuce leaves under cold running water. Lay them flat on a clean kitchen towel and gently pat them dry. Choose medium to large leaves that will be sturdy enough to hold the fillings without tearing.

Assemble the Wraps: Take a lettuce leaf and lay it on a serving plate or platter. Place a few cooked shrimp in the center of each leaf, then generously top with shredded carrots, diced avocado, and chopped cilantro for a burst of freshness and color.

Garnish and Serve: For additional texture, consider adding sliced radishes on top of the fillings. If you enjoy a spicy kick, drizzle with your favorite hot sauce. Serve the lettuce wraps immediately with lime wedges alongside for squeezing over the top.

            Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

              - Presentation Tips: Arrange the lettuce wraps in a visually appealing manner on a large platter, and consider adding a small bowl of hot sauce in the center for guests to add as they like.
