Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

½ cup packed brown sugar

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the cookie dough)

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 ½ cups plain Greek yogurt

¼ cup honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the yogurt mixture)

Pinch of sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

Prepare the Cookie Dough:

    - In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed. Set this dry mixture aside for later use.

      - In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, packed brown sugar, and granulated sugar together on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

        - Mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, ensuring it is well combined.

          - Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

            - Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula, distributing them evenly throughout the dough.

              Form the Cookie Dough Rounds:

                - Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the cookie dough and roll them into balls using your palms. Place these balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving some space between each.

                  - Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and let the cookie dough balls freeze for approximately 30 minutes, or until they are solid.

                    Make the Yogurt Mixture:

                      - In a separate bowl, whisk together the plain Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and the remaining 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

                        Assemble the Rounds:

                          - Once the cookie dough balls are firm, remove them from the freezer.

                            - Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, dollop a generous spoonful of the yogurt mixture on top of each cookie dough ball, forming a little mound over each.

                              - For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on each yogurt-topped cookie dough round.

                                Freeze and Serve:

                                  - Return the assembled rounds back to the freezer and allow them to chill for at least 1-2 hours, or until the yogurt layer is frozen solid.

                                    - Once fully firm, transfer the rounds to an airtight container for storage in the freezer.

                                      - Enjoy these delicious frozen treats directly from the freezer for a delightful dessert!
