Ingredients

1 medium ripe cantaloupe, cubed (approximately 4 cups)

1 medium ripe honeydew melon, cubed (approximately 4 cups)

8 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto

Fresh basil or mint leaves (for garnish)

Balsamic glaze (for drizzling)

Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

16 wooden or metal skewers (8-inch)

Instructions

Prepare the Melons: Begin by cutting the cantaloupe and honeydew melons in half. Remove the seeds carefully using a spoon. Utilize a melon baller to scoop out the flesh into round balls, or if preferred, slice the melons into evenly sized 1-inch cubes.

Prepare the Prosciutto: If necessary, cut the slices of prosciutto into halves or thirds. This will ensure that they can wrap around the melon cubes comfortably without bulk.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a skewer and begin threading the ingredients. Start with one cube of cantaloupe, followed by a folded piece of prosciutto, and then add a cube of honeydew melon. Repeat this pattern until the skewer is filled, leaving about an inch of space at both ends for easy handling. Aim for 3-4 cubes of melon on each skewer for a perfect balance.

Garnish the Skewers: Once all the skewers are prepared, arrange them thoughtfully on a serving platter. Tear fresh basil or mint leaves and sprinkle them around the skewers to add a vibrant touch and aromatic essence.

Drizzle and Season: Generously drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled skewers to enhance their flavor. Finally, add a light sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper over the top to elevate the taste profile.

Serve: These delightful skewers can be enjoyed immediately as a refreshing appetizer. Alternatively, for a chilled treat, refrigerate them for about 30 minutes before serving.

Presentation Tips: For an elegant touch, consider serving the skewers on a wooden board and adding a small bowl of extra balsamic glaze on the side for dipping.
