Ingredients

1 cup (240ml) canned pumpkin puree

1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar

1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 cup (75g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup (90g) dark chocolate chips or raisins (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing and lightly flouring it, or line it with parchment paper to make for easy removal after baking.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, packed brown sugar, vegetable oil, large egg, and vanilla extract. Using a whisk, blend the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Mix these dry ingredients well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the flour.

Incorporate Dry into Wet: Gradually add the dry mixture to the pumpkin mixture. Using a spatula, fold the ingredients together gently until they are just combined. It is important not to over-mix; a few lumps should remain for optimal texture.

Add Optional Ingredients: If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans along with the dark chocolate chips or raisins. These additions not only enhance the flavor but also add delightful texture to your loaf.

Transfer to the Loaf Pan: Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Use the spatula to smooth the top for even baking.

Bake the Loaf: Place the loaf pan in your preheated oven and bake for about 55-65 minutes. The loaf is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown excessively, loosely cover it with aluminum foil for the remainder of baking.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. After that, carefully transfer the loaf onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into it.

Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Alternatively, refrigerate for a week or freeze for longer storage.

                      - Presentation Tips: For an attractive presentation, slice the loaf and arrange it on a platter. Dust with powdered sugar for a touch of sweetness and serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert experience.
