Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 carrot, shredded

1 red bell pepper, finely diced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste

8 large lettuce leaves (iceberg or butter lettuce work well)

1 ripe mango, pureed

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

1 tablespoon chopped peanuts (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Mango Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the pureed mango, lime juice, and honey. Heat over medium-low heat until warmed through and slightly thickened, approximately 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally, then remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and finely chopped onion, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Vegetables: Stir in the shredded carrot and diced red bell pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables begin to soften.

Incorporate Beef and Sauces: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.

Flavor It Up: Mix in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, freshly grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow everything to cook together for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring that the beef is evenly coated in the sauce mixture.

Assemble the Wraps: To serve, spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf. Drizzle with the prepared mango glaze.

Garnish: Finish each wrap by topping with a sprinkle of chopped cilantro and peanuts for added flavor and a delightful crunch.

Serve: Present the wraps with additional mango glaze on the side for those who prefer a bit of extra sweetness.
